Strider 9/21

Good afternoon, Readers!

We were talking about inferring yesterday. This means we are looking for more information on our characters and the story and finding clues in the things they do or say.

Noting details was about finding information directly in the text. Inferring is about looking deeper into what is written in the text.

I am sure many of you noticed on page 68 several words were scratched out in the first paragraph. Leigh never says why he did this new thing all of a sudden. What can you infer is the reason for this? Please post your answer and any other inferences you might have made from your reading.

After posting, please read pages 79-90 now or for homework. Also, write on a sticky note an inference you made for disscussion tomorrow.

  3. Dear Ms.Fletter,

I think he did that because he wasn't paying attention when he wrote that and then realized that he didn't need that part.

I think that Leigh scratched out the words be cause he wanted to use different words than what he was using.

I infer that Leigh wrote with pen and couldn't erase his mistakes so he scratched them out.
