The genre of biography

Hello Readers,

Today we will start reading a biography.  Tell me everything you know about the biography genre.  Such as, is it fiction or non-fiction, what are they about, how are they written, etc.  This will give me some insight into what you already know about biographies.

Then, if you have time afterward, visit the Bios 4 Kids link I added to our blog.

Thanks,
Mrs. Springston

  1. Dear Mrs.S,
A biography is non-fiction. It is when a person writes a book about them self or another person like Rosa Parks. John Elway wrote a biography. He told about his life and how he got to be a football player.

    Sincerely,
    Joseph

  2. Dear Mrs.S,

The things I already know about biographies are that they are non-fiction. Also, they are about somebody's life. A biography is not written by the the person in the biography, but by another person than the person in the biography. If the biography was written by the person in the biography, it would be called an auto-biography.

  3. Dear Mrs.S,

I know biographies are books about people who were actually alive and is non-fiction. They have lot and lots of facts about that person. For example, you were to read a book about Martin Luther King Jr. you would read just about Martin and his life, its not like the next page the book will talk about Albert Instine.

  4. Dear Mrs.S,
Biographies are non-fiction and are about real people. As an example,on Bios for kids there is a biography on Barrak Obama. Next, they are about people's life. Some people write about their own life.
